The members of the Sierra Community Chorus come from all age groups: college students through retirees. Those still in the workforce represent a wide variety of fields: teachers, government workers, software engineers, CPAs, realtors, insurance brokers, information technology specialists, medical technicians, self-employed, etc. What brings them together is a love of many kinds of music (and no small measure of talent), plus the desire to work together to put on a memorable show for our audiences. The Chorus is led by a director, supported by a regular accompanist, and governed by a slate of elected officers and Chorus Council consisting of ex-officio and volunteer members. Formally, the Chorus is a course offered through Sierra College's Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. The Council plans the details of each concert series: costumes, lighting, sound, props, refreshments, etc. and administers the finances of the Chorus – among other details. These activities are carried out through the authority of the director, the college, and a formal college liaison. Below are the names of the people who play these important roles.
